ONE Year

Today is the day. This exact time a year ago I was thinking surely B-Dubette is almost here. Surely. If you don't recall, I had a ridiculously long transition period during labor. Look back to the end of September 2010, and you can read the whole story. Here is the first post after her arrival. I have relived several moments from the second half of September 2010 lately, and it's hard not to get extremely emotional and extremely grateful. God's mercy is extraordinary. At 4:26 pm on September 18, 2010, Reese Robinson Walker was born. 8 pounds and 20 1/2 inches long. She was beautiful, and she had the sweetest lips.
In this past year, our hearts have grown leaps and bounds. I really had no idea you could love a little baby so much. Everyone says it, and everyone is being honest when they say it. While our little one is napping, I'm going to quickly recap what our "toddler" is doing at ONE year. I'm tempted to go over stats and stories from the entire year, but most of you have already read about them; if not, you have plenty to choose from in the blog archives. This is probably how I will spend the rest of naptime. Hehe.

RRW at twelve months:
*Reese weighs 20 lbs. 10 oz. (63rd percentile)
*Reesey Peece is 28 3/4 inches long (38th percentile)
*Her head is at the 85th percentile. Hehe.
*Sweet Pea is still napping twice a day for about 4 hours total.
*RRW still sleeps 12+ hours each night.
*Total number of teeth=ZERO.
*Reese babbles all the time and likes to mimick sounds she hears. She has little conversations with herself and others, and I just wish I knew what she was saying.
*One of Reese's favorite things to do is to get on her knees and hop. She LOVES it, and it totally distracts her from her need/desire to walk.
*I think she may know what a puppy dog says. She sees a stuffed puppy and sort of makes a barking sound.
*When you say, "Love on bunny. Love on _____." she holds it next to her face, hugs it, and smiles so big.
*She eats everything, and she drinks 3 cups of whole milk a day. Breastfeeding is over as of last Sunday.
*Reese is sweet, spirited, laid-back, loving, inquisitive, and every bit of what the Lord has made her to be. Beautiful, joyful, and prayerfully--a close friend of His at an early age.

Wes and I are so grateful to all of our friends and family and most of all to our loving God. I was reminded at church this morning as we were sitting in the back of the sanctuary singing a hymn to the Lord that we are surrounded by such an incredible body of Christ. The love, support, encouragement, wisdom, hospitality, and true friendship we have been given is incomparable. Thank you for the love you have shared with our precious daughter. Happy 1st Birthday, Reese!

Remember this one?! B-Dubette had finally arrived! Praise the Lord!

First family picture late that night.

Then it was to the NICU for the next 12 days where she was loved more than can be measured. This was before the PICC line because her IV is still in her arm. SWEET baby girl.

And look at her now. Beautiful baby girl. Well, my weekly emails now say toddler. What is with that?!

The birthday girl on her big day.

During one of her wagon rides with all her buddies.

Playing with one of her new toys this morning.

Right before this nap. Happy Birthday, Reese Robinson.

Oh Kate....it's hard for Mopsy to read when her eyes are so full of tears. You are such a great writer and your way with words truly expresses your love for the Lord and how He has blessed us.
Sweet, sweet words....Love, Mom
