Today, Reese was baptized into our covenant family. It was a full day with lots of family, great food, and most importantly, a promise that we will all raise Reese to know, love, and fear our God. We pray that she never knows a day apart from Christ.
The weekend itself was absolutely beautiful. I had been stuck in the house for three days because my car was in the shop after hitting a deer, so when Friday night came around, I was ready to go somewhere. We headed as a family to Table Mesa for a wonderful almost date night...it seemed like one because Reese was asleep, but I guess we still had a carseat with us to make it no so "date-ish." Saturday morning was Ty's Sip and See, and it's always so much fun to be around Jayme and Jenny Beth's friends. It was such a special celebration of precious little Ty. Once my mom and dad made it up here, we took a walk to see the progress of our museum, and it's something else. I can't wait for 11-11-11. The weather was sunny, clear skies, and 70 degrees!! (I won't go into talking about the likelihood of more snow this week.) After our lovely walk, we all rested a bit before going to Table Mesa for the second night in a row. You can't go wrong with that place. We all had a good night's sleep before heading to church for the big day. Reese was so content and really listened well to what Chris was preaching about her baptism. :) It truly was a beautiful service though. My favorite hymns were sung, my personal favorite voice sang at the offering, and Wes and I got to witness the entire congregation raise their hands in agreement that they will help raise up Reese. My mom had prepared the most wonderful meal for all of us back here, and she had even brought decorations for the big celebration. It was all so lovely. Here are some of my favorite images of the day...
I had each person write a prayer or scripture for Reese on these cards. I just finished reading them all, and they will be cherished forever. I can't wait for her to read them! Make sure to take note of the sweet accents my mom brought...the beautiful cloth napkins, the scrapbook paper cut-outs, and the "R" she made. She also made a green moss one for the front door.
