18 Months Old

Our little Sugar, Sweet Pea, Sweetheart, Reesey, Peesey is ONE AND A HALF today!
A year ago she looked like this...

And today she looks like this...

I don't think it's possible to be more in love, but I have a feeling that my love for this girl will only increase with each day I have with her. She is loving, joyful, smart, beautiful, intuitive, adventurous, methodical, observant, and many other wonderful things. She is also impatient, she doesn't like it at all when she doesn't get what she wants, and she won't let me put sweet little hair bows in her growing hair. We have entered the tantrum world, and she is really talented. We read what seems like 100 books a day. She has begun to talk a lot. I've started a list of words she says on my phone, and my favorites are backpack, duck, and when she tries to say a friend's name. The list gets longer almost every day, but you probably wouldn't be able to understand 90% of the words I have listed. I know her language. She weighs 26 pounds and is in the 75th percentile. She is in the 50th for height. I think it's perfect. She has started protesting diaper changes and naps by not wanting to "go with Mama" when those times come. We are consistent though, and we win. She hasn't figured that out yet. She has 9 or 10 teeth (including 4 molars) and is working on a couple more I think. She sleeps from 7pm to 7:30am. She "rests" in her crib with books and toys for about 45 minutes to an hour most mornings. She naps for 2-3 hours in the afternoon. She eats waffles, fruit, veggie/fruit pouches, mac 'n cheese, peanut butter and honey sandwiches, Earth's Best snack bars, rotisserie chicken, cheese, bread, and the rest of the typical toddler snacks and meals. She is opinionated when it comes to food and other things as well. She tried to jump this week after seeing someone do a "burpee" on TV, and it made me laugh until I cried. She tries to repeat a lot of words. She pries your legs and hands open if she wants to get in your lap or you to hold something. She calls things by name and points to many of the things I ask her while reading. She still crosses her ankles all the time. Her laugh is still the best sound in the world. She "loves" people and toys and Emmett well. She dances, and it's really cute. She doesn't like it when I put her shoes on without socks, but she gets over it as soon as we get outside. She LOVES to go and play outside. She hasn't quite figured out "Stay right here" or "Stop" yet. She loves to swing and slide.
It's March 18th, and Reese is 18 months old.
I'm 15 weeks pregnant, too. Thank you, Lord, for each day you give us all together as a family.

Kate, that is a great summary of Reese at 18 months old! You will be so glad you documented all that later..she is really growing up.
She is precious and we can't wait for #2 to make an appearance.
Love and hugs, GRAN(Susie)
