Day 18: Your Shoes

Today is not just another day of the photography challenge. It's Reese's 9 month birthday. And for the first time, I will not have the "monthly stats" on the actual day. We are in Conway, it's the end of a LONG day full of birthday parties and weddings, and I just know I would forget more than half of what I want to say about the 9th month of Reese's life.
In fact, I think I'll just post pictures with captions to tell you about our day. 9 month stats will hopefully come on Monday.

Happy 1st Birthday, Walker! Our little beach buddy had a BIG day today!

And his little friend Reese was so happy to get to celebrate with him!

Photography Challenge Picture: My shoes from tonight's wedding.

My good lookin' date.

Reese's face is saying: "I'm not so sure about this mom and dad leaving for the evening thing."

"Ah, go ahead. Mopsy and Popsy can handle me."

Day 17: Technology

Technology=boring photography to me. I wasn't too excited about this day's challenge, and it didn't help my desire to quit the entire challenge early. 30 days is a long time to do this, but I am not a quitter, and I am kind of weird about finishing things like this. So, onward I go. I just looked and tomorrow is shoes. Much better.

Day 16: Long Exposure

Have you ever seen those pictures where sparklers make shapes and letters in the air? I actually know how to do that, and it's long exposure. However, it was too hard to get my hands on some sparklers tonight. Our good friend Daniel came up with the idea to use a stick that had just come from the chiminea to make fun shapes. Thanks, Dan, for your swirling abilities and your dedication to this photography challenge. Today was a success because of your help.
Enjoy!

W for Walker.

Day 15: Silhouette

This one was hard. I don't know much about taking silhouette photography. At all. I know you are supposed to take into consideration lighting, shutter speed, and aperture, but that's all I know. What I did love about today's challenge was that my subject got to be my hubby. He and Emmett are now on a jog, so I stopped them on their way out the door. I told him to jump in the air and stand on the driveway ledge while I was sitting on the ground. Nothing too exciting, but I do love that guy in the dark a whole lot.

Day 14- Eyes

Eyes. I knew right where to go for this challenge. My sweet girl has gorgeous eyes.

Day 13: Yourself with 13 Things

Call me an overachiever, call me crazy. I am what I am. And I just wanted to keep taking pictures of me with 13 things today. I guess I had this image in my head of what I wanted my picture to look like, but having forgotten how to change my self-timer and declaring today a stay at home day, I was a bit limited. Now if I can just figure out how to turn the self-timer on for longer than 2 seconds I could possibly be in the picture a bit more.
So, here I am with 13 things. 3 times.
{Me & 13 pairs of summer shoes.}

{Me & 13 magazines from my yellow rack.}

{Me & 13 books I either want to read or re-read soon.}

Day 12: Sunset (and Mopsy's Birthday)

And Auntie Liz and Aaron's 1st anniversary! What a day! This time last year we were celebrating the nuptials of my maid of honor, and I'm going to ask you to read this AND this. Say a little prayer for my Lizzy Boo and her family over the next few days and weeks. Thanks.
It goes without saying that today is a special day. I'm pretty sure Liz and my mom felt pretty celebrated today, and I hope they know just how much I love them.
Today's challenge was the sunset, and I think it's actually prettier right now than when I took the pictures 10 minutes ago. I'm also thinking of some different settings I could have put my camera on to make the sunset actually pop a bit more. But you know, I'm learning this photography stuff, and I'll post what I got.

Shot #1

Shot #2. The sky was prettier in person, and you really can't see the sunset well in the picture, but I still like the shot.

And to end the post, what better than more pictures of Reese? I sent these to my mom earlier, and she said they were the best birthday present she could get.

A little blurry, but Reese is just cracking up at Emmett, and I thought it was cute as could be.

Crawling after Emmett, and he's just not sure what he thinks about her chasing him all the time.

My sweet ballerina.
